English Translation

Thus, young single women like these were called Papanku flower women by our ancestors. Why were they called Papanku flowers? Because young single women give off a beautiful fragrance, just like the Papanku when it blooms. They give off a sweet scent, like a perfume; that’s why people used to say they smelled just like the Papanku flower.

Kichwa Translation

Kasna soltera gunata ñukanchi rimanchi rukuguna ninun. Papangu sisa warmiguna. ¿Imarasha ninguichi papangu sisa? Mashti payguna soltera kay papangu paskarisha shina. Perfume asna ranguna payuna shiraygu papangu sisa kwinta mi.
