The Kichwa name for Pearcea rhodotrichain in the Gesnereaceae family is "Kilpundo Sisa" or "Rufous Motmot Flower." The reason that the plant is named after the bird is the visual resemblance of its flower to the black patch against read fathers near the motmot's eye.
